Electrical Engineer

What you will do:

As our Electrical Engineer, you will design and develop the hardware portion of a variety of our electronic products to meet customer needs and will provide engineering support for PCA production and purchasing. This position works at our New Hope, MN location.

The job:

Every day you will be managing multiple projects. You will be responsible for planning and achieving project goals and the communication of project status.

Projects will be based in electronic design with a focus on embedded controller applications. You will work to create and review specifications, generate schematics and assembly documentation, complete verification/validation testing, generate the bill of materials, and interface with customers to capture specific design requirements. You will also be involved in parts sourcing, prototyping, creating manufacturing integration and design documentation, and working directly with staff to ensure smooth product introductions.

The skills you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with Embedded Controllers and the testing, troubleshooting, and debugging process. You will need to be able to read schematics and data sheets and must be able to use tools such as DVM's and Oscilloscopes.

You must also have a good understanding of analog and digital circuit design for product development, as well as design for manufacturability in an automated surface mount process (DFM). Three to five years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred. Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Component Obsolescence, I2C, RS-232, RS-485 and UL standards a plus.
