Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) is a world leader in air traffic sensors and automation systems, responsible for providing air traffic tools to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP) in the US and abroad. We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware and Infrastructure (HW&I) team developing the next generation Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Weather Data Reporting sensors/systems, as well as providing support to existing fielded systems. The position is located in Marlborough, MA.

This position is for an Electrical Engineer who has demonstrated skills in the RF/microwave domain. They will perform design, development, integration, test, and defect resolution for critical next generation sensors. Regular duties include: participating in design discussions and reviews, producing design artifacts, working with suppliers to design, develop, and qualify new systems, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and functioning as a valuable member of the team.

The candidate will leverage their experience to perform integration of the sensors for test and demonstrations.

The candidate must possess strong design and debug discipline and must be able to follow established processes.

The candidate must have experience meeting system requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets.

The candidate must be a team player and should expect to work in a multi-disciplined team in a collaborative manner.

This position requires interaction with internal and external customers.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with schematic capture and board layout tools as well as Printed Wire Board (PWB) manufacturing

  • Experience with Electrical Engineering design tools for circuit and electromagnetic simulation (Keysight ADS, CST, or equivalent)

  • Proficiency working in a lab environment and operating RF and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete hardware design, and then verify the design via test and integration

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint)

  • Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance. US Citizenship Required.

Desired Skills:

  • System level hardware integration and problem solving

  • Experience with air traffic control and weather sensor hardware

  • Understanding of radar system theory, including weather radars

  • Working knowledge of phased array (AESA) and dish antennas

  • Experience with design and development of embedded software using FPGAs

  • Proven innovator of new and emerging technologies

  • Task Management or other lead role experience for development efforts

  • Existing security clearance

Education Requirements:

Bachelors / Master's Degree of Science Technology Electrical Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or related fields and 4 years of related work experience.
