Recommends facility improvements and assists in developing strategic and tactical planning initiatives for maintaining campus buildings and associated infrastructure. Manages the efforts of consultants and contractors through design and construction processes.Hiring Range: * Maximum = Based on qualifications * Minimum = $82,662.23Education and Experience * Education * Required:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field OR equivalent related work experience * Experience * Required: 5 years of project management experience or 10 years of field experience specific to the mechanical engineering discipline * Preferred:*

* 10 or more years of experience in project management.* 5 years of building technical experience * Facilities-related project management, including experience with building systems (MEP, Low voltage electrical, construction, and building trades general knowledge)* Experience in all aspects of design and construction, renovation, and repairs to mid-sized commercial construction projects, preferably at airports or intermodal transportation hubs. * Experience in working with multi-building institutions or campus environments.Licenses or Certifications * Preferred:* NC-licensed Professional Architect* NC Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Electrical * Coordinate and manage the work of engineering consultants, with an emphasis on electrical systems, equipment, and project management related to lighting, power/data, generators, and panel boards, amongst others. * Coordinates assigned projects' planning, development, review, and construction coordination. * Evaluates technical concepts and details related to electrical project management, new technologies, and systems, such as energy management systems and technologies to improve airport operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption and costs. * Collaborates and assists in the management of building infrastructure and systems lifecycle from concept, design, construction, and commissioning (rehabilitation and replacement)* Review construction documents, studies, and technical reports for contract compliance with program objectives, budget, and schedule. * Perform detailed engineering analyses and studies of varying scope and complexity to support airport facility operation and development. * Performs additional related work as required.KNOWLEDGE OF* Commercial building components * Basic building components and finishes * Electrical and lighting systems* HVAC systems * Potable water and sanitary sewage, including gravity and forced main systems. * Fire alarm and fire protection systems * Utilities * Communication systems * Principles and practice of public sector infrastructure project management, including factors related to public bidding laws of North Carolina. * Rules, regulations, codes, and guidelines as they relate to building construction and renovations, including fire, electric, energy, utilities, disabilities, egress, elevators, escalators, stairs, and associated permits. * Commercial airport operations, policies, and procedures related to the above listSKILL IN:* Analysis and logical problem-solving * Formulation of sound conclusions and recommendations * Handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. * Analysis and interpretation of technical data and reports, specifications, and engineering plans for commercial air carriers, as well as general aviation, airport facilities * Exhibit strong organizational skills and strategic development skills.ABILITY TO:* Read, write, understand, and speak the English language fluently. * Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. * Collaborate with other departments on airport facility matters. * Collaborate with other departments in developing activation plans for new and rehabilitated building infrastructure and systems. * Act as a liaison and resource for other departments on building infrastructure and building systems matters. * Represent the Authority in interactions with tenants, airlines, and external agencies on building infrastructure, systems, and associated operational matters. * Establish and maintain positive working relationships with government and airport officials, the public, employees, tenants, and consultants.RDU Benefits:At RDU, you're not just a blip on the radar.
