Electrical Engineer (Power Electronics Engineer)
  • Strong understanding of power electronics:
    • High voltage 400 850 VDC, power conversion and associated HV safety techniques
    • High voltage power distribution & switching
    • Converters, inverters (VFDs)
    • Brushless DC PMSM control
  • Electromagnetic Compliance EMI mitigation, isolated grounding techniques
  • Communication protocol & circuit design: CAN, LIN, PWM
  • Electrical Vehicle Specification compliance: SAE, etc.
  • Documentation and configuration management of designs, wiring diagrams and
schematics
    • AutoCAD or SolidWorks CAD software
  • Field service and troubleshooting
  • BS Degree a plus
2-5yrs exp+ is ideal
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs in a corporate environment
  • Good interpersonal relationship and communication skills
  • 25% domestic travel

VIEW JOBS 8/29/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-11-27T00:00 <p>GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:</p><p>To develop, implement, and maintain test engineering systems in order to achieve the appropriate quality levels as defined by Gichner and customer standards.</p><p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p><ul><li><p>Responsible for managing test engineering activities on a site level.</p></li><li><p>Creates test plans, procedures and special tests for submittal to customers for review and approval.</p></li><li><p>Creates test data packages, and tests reports for submittal to customers on completed programs.</p></li><li><p>Schedules testing operations and monitors test performance.</p></li><li><p>Reviews contract releases for Quality test requirements.</p></li><li><p>Represents Gichner Quality Assurance Department at technical reviews with customer and with government personnel.</p></li><li><p>Reviews quotes and provides technical input and inspection/test pricing to the quote team and supports the development of technical proposals.</p></li><li><p>Provides test information and technical guidance to Engineering in the areas of: structural, environmental, electrical, mechanical and electromagnetic compliance.</p></li><li><p>Witnesses off-site testing performed by subcontractors.</p></li><li><p>Acts as Gichner Representative for Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).</p></li></ul><p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:</p><p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities</p><p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p><p>Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards</p><p>Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors</p><p>Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary</p><p>Ability to adhere to workplace rules</p><p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p><p>Required: 4 year college/university education in technical field, or equivalent experience.</p><p>Required: 5 years related experience.
