Johnson Electric (JE) is excited to announce that we are now recruiting for a MedicalProduct Design Engineer for our Vandalia, OH location. In this role you will lead the product design and development effort in areas of printed electronics, sensors and wearables for JMT Medical Devices.

Relocation assistance is provided

Responsibilities:

  • Perform product and process development for existing and new business opportunities
  • Design and Develop products to meet product specifications and customer requirements
  • Qualify internal and external materials or design to benchmark performance and specification development
  • Patent applications/conduct IP research and analysis
  • Develop process, test, and analysis method on existing and new products
  • Train technicians on lab equipment with regarding to testing and analytical procedures

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of BS degree (1-3 years experience) or MS (0-5 years experience) in Biomedical, Electrical or other related engineering field
  • A desire to be apart of cutting edge medical technology.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Electrical Circuit design, Circuit Schematic preparation, Basic understanding of digital/analog electronics, Medical device- sensors for ECG,RR, EEG etc., Vital signs monitoring- wearable medical devices, Basic understanding of regulations/ design controls/ standards in Medical Device design and Development, working knowledge of BLE/WIFI Medical devices.
  • Knowledge of product design - Design controls, Design verification by building prototypes, Design documentation- DHF, test protocols and Verification reports, Risk assessment of Design (DFMEA)
  • Experience in analytical, physical, mechanic or electric testing instrumentation
  • Software applications : Altium, solidworks, MS Office ( Mandatory-MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access)
  • Willingness to work closely with Manufacturing team in a manufacturing environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Biomedical, Electrical, or other related engineering field

In this role you will design new products and processes within the flexible laminated cable business unit. <strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supervise and mentor existing process engineering technician(s).</li> <li>Coordinates with sales and customer service to understand the upcoming product mixture.</li> <li>Creates raw material specifications for existing materials.</li> <li>Creates material validation processes for new material suppliers including PPAP.</li> <li>Creates drawings for new custom cable designs and releases for production.</li> <li>Coordinates with sales and customer service to develop new product designs from concept to production.</li> <li>Identifies process requirements and develops new processes to assure robust production process.</li> <li>Define and source required equipment and/or tooling required to reliably produce product.</li> <li>Documentation of all development &amp; processes for new products, including PFMEA’s, Process capability studies, DOE’s, Process verification reports, IQ/OQ/PQ reports, Work Instructions &amp; control plans.</li> <li>Participate in design reviews to develop and propose preferred and capable manufacturing processes and feedback on the manufacturability to reach a good Design for Manufacturing (DFM).</li> <li>Training of direct labor in newly developed processes to ensure smooth transition to production</li> <li>Be an active member of a cross functional team (CFT) for new product development.</li> <li>Observes all company policies, procedures involving confidentiality, safety, and ethics</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with automated processes including Robotics, PLC’s, and Vision systems</li> <li>Should be familiar with DFA/DFM concepts, DFMEA development, basic mechanical and electrical engineering theory</li> <li>Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future</li> <li>Product Launch experience</li> <li>Previous experience in a manufacturing new product development environment</li> <li>Experience as an engineering manager or mentor</li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering</li> <li>5+ Years of experience working as a Design Engineer</li> <li>5+ Years of experience working as a Process Engineer</li> <li>Experience as an engineering manager or mentor</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>JE offers talented employee’s exceptional opportunities to learn and grow professionally with rewarding careers.
