McElroy is looking for an Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB design and layout, control systems, embedded software, and their integration with mechanical and hydraulic systems to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture to installation and operation. The successful engineer will be collaborative in work style with the ability to both lead and follow. They will also have an appreciation for balancing design between all engineering disciplines and an understanding of a variety of components including microprocessors, analog and digital signal processing, electric motors, generators, large scale heating elements, sensors, batteries, and communication devices. The goal is to design and build industry leading fusion equipment of innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities
Design and/or specify hardware for electrical/electronic control projects using analog or digital signal processing.
Design of electrical circuits and conducting electrical circuit simulations.
Direction or completion of PCB layout requirements and routing.
Develop controls and software for interfacing, analyzing and testing of hydraulic actuators, electric motors, power electronics, heater elements, generators, etc.
Design control strategies and algorithms for systems (Electro Hydraulic, Driveline, Vehicle, & Electrical Control).
Design electronic controls algorithms on embedded ruggedized controllers.
Develop electrical power requirements and solutions for mobile equipment.
Provide electrical architecture recommendations for wiring design implementation and manufacturability.
Support current product electrical and software needs, including warranty concerns, quality improvements, and cost reductions.
Support troubleshooting of issues as they may occur from electrical and software viewpoints including hands on work with diagnostic equipment and tools.
Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support problem analysis.
Collaborate with Product Management, Product Validation, Mechanical Design, and other members of the Electrical Design Team during all program development phases.
Drive the commonality of technical solutions across product platforms.
Be an active member of Design reviews, DFMEA, Risk assessments and other technical meetings.
Manage workload and prioritization of assigned projects according to manager's input.
Encourage new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and opportunities for product improvement.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
4+ years of experience in analog/digital electronics design and microprocessor firmware development
Good knowledge of electronic components and communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
Working knowledge and understanding of interfaces with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical power systems
C, Linux, QT programming languages
Experience with Simulink, embedded coder, MatLab, Python, and Raptor is preferred.
Experience with CAN based development tools such as CANalyzer and CAN based service tools
Experience with complete electronic vehicle systems architecture and software a plus
Knowledge of wiring harness design and associated components is a plus
Experience in a strong cross-functional team environment.
Ability to use MS office suite of software (Word, Power Point, Excel).
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Must be able to routinely work between office and shop environment. Balance of workday may require bending, squatting, and climbing, while working on large scale products. Some domestic travel required. Mobility required between multi building complex covering several acres.
