About the Role:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Electronics) in the Engineering department, you will focus on design and development of high efficiency power supplies and LED driver designs. As part of Kichler NPI process, the applicant will be responsible for concept, design, validation, and production execution.
This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work with other members of this team to maintain and/or continuously improve the overall value of product designs.
What You Will Do:
The applicant must have an extensive knowledge of SMPS Topologies including Flyback, Buck, SEPIC, PFC, LLC and analog/digital controls.
Solid understanding of embedded systems: microcontrollers, ADCs and DACs, common communication interfaces like UART, SPI and I2C.
Candidate must be experienced with power supply safety, regulatory, and environmental certifications.
Build circuit schematics and BOM. Support Mechanical team with form factor of the designs to best meet the system target goals.
Conduct design and layout reviews with multi-functional teams.
Prototype, test, and validate designs. Document multi-dimensional activities.
Transition designs into mass production. Support sustaining engineering issues.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred
Broad technical knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Electrical Engineering (e.g., analog, digital, and RF)
Peripheral busses: I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
Schematic capture and PCB layout experience, preferably using Altium Designer
5+ years of power electronics professional experience
Ability to synthesize critical technical details into risks and actions items
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel domestically (less than 10%)
Min Range: $68,180.00 USD Annual
Mid Range: $97,400.00 USD Annual
Max Range: $126,620.00 USD Annual
