Job Description

The Electrical Engineer at LDC is responsible for the electrical design of electric vehicle and telecom projects. This position works with LDC staff and clients to ensure the electrical design aspect of projects follow code and life safety for the purpose of obtaining permits and through bidding of contractors and into construction. The position is responsible for quality control of all aspects of electrical engineering for these projects and able to sign and stamp those design sheets for permitting purposes.

Reports to: Director of Telecom

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact as the electrical engineer for clients.

  • Some coordination with local utilities and/or OEM providers may be necessary.

  • Response to AHJ's on any comments stemming from permit application will be required to successfully answer and ultimately get permit approvals.

  • Successfully manage and execute electrical design using company systems and tools.

  • Act as the primary interface with key clients to ensure services are meeting their needs and expectations. Promote relationships with key teaming partners.

  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.

  • Routinely interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.

  • Work in conjunction with Project Manager for direct involvement with budgeting, client relations, establishing deadlines, and assisting in directing the work of technical staff.

  • Stay current on all electrical/civil related codes and design requirements.

  • Willing to contribute and pitch in, wherever there is a need within LDC, without being specifically asked to do so.

Education, Experience, Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

  • PE License required and ability to seek and obtain licensure in any state needed.

  • Proven track record of design, development, and launch of innovative and robust electrical components and systems.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering field.

Physical Considerations

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, and calculator.

  • Work activities involve combination of sitting for longer periods and intermittent standing/walking.

  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.

  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
