Key Job Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for new feature development and production design for autonomous mining equipment. This Role will be involved in the technical specification, hardware selection, integration, programming, testing and associated documentation of systems designed to enhance the functionality, useability and reliability of the mining equipment.

Understanding and conducting the product design lifecycle, software development and maintenance and the critical characteristics of reliable and user-friendly product design.

This Role will have a split focus between new product development and production engineering. The Electrical Engineer will involve collaboration in a small multi-disciplinary team environment with a focus on creating and implementing conceptual, and strategic, solutions to solve engineering problems while working within the requirements of governmental regulatory bodies from around the world.

A strong desire to continue expanding one's knowledge base is important as our Team works to integrate advanced and emerging technologies. This Role will be most successful with an individual who truly enjoys working on technology that they may not be familiar with but is willing to dive in and figure things out.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required.

  • 4 years' experience of controls, sensors, programming, machine autonomy, and/or robotics experience.

  • Experience in Software Design and programming

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creative, high energy, self-motivated and self-starter.

  • Capability to travel annually up to 10%.

  • Experience in LabVIEW highly desired.

  • Experience in PLC programming desired.

  • Experienced in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired.

  • Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired.

  • Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), highly desired.

  • Certifications or demonstrated project management, desired.

  • Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.
