This position will be part of the KION Group - Mobile Automation Execution team! KION Mobile Automation (KMA) is the world-leading, fast-growing, innovative frontrunner in the development of mobile robotics, robotic fleet controllers and cloud-based fleet logistics management systems. KMA has a focus on Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. AGVs are fully autonomous robots that move and transport items in production, warehouse, and distribution centers without manual intervention or permanent conveying systems.

The Electrical Engineer reports to the Mechatronics Engineering Manager and works as a part of the Vehicle Mechatronics group within Mobile Automation Project Execution. Entrepreneurial thinking, ability to produce innovative designs quickly, and sound engineering skills are critical for a successful candidate.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will do in This Role:

  • Develop innovative designs for vehicle control, communication, safety, and power systems

  • Create design schematics and power up test plans

  • Participate in risk assessments

  • Complete design and safety standard conformance documentation

  • Research new and alternative parts to meet design needs

  • Work with manufacturing teams to answer questions and ensure designs can be produced

  • Provide support for Customer Service and issue resolution

  • Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction

What We are Looking For:

  • Previous work experience in Electrical Engineering through internship, co-op or, full time work

  • Minimum 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 0-2 years of related working experience

  • E-Plan, AutoCAD, or similar CAD system

  • Knowledge of ANSI, UL, ISO, and CE standards

  • PLC design (ladder logic and structured text) or similar control logic

  • Knowledge and/or design experience in Industrial or Automation equipment

  • Good communication with other engineering disciplines and manufacturing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with MS programs, Word, Excel

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Detail oriented

  • Quality oriented

Travel:

  • Up to 10%
