GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.</p><p>A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. We use our expertise to help our customers securely and effectively transform mission delivery.</p><p>We invite you to join our team for this very interesting opportunity!</p><p>Position Summary:</p><p>This position is for a Electrical Engineer who will prepare designs for Electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>This role will support design development of Electrical systems and equipment for the GBSD program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with Electrical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.</p><ul><li><p>Develop design drawings and other design documents</p></li><li><p>Perform system analysis and equipment sizing calculations</p></li><li><p>Prepare design and equipment specifications</p></li><li><p>Develop design configuration packages for configuration control and change management</p></li><li><p>Design Building Information Modeling and coordination with other disciplines</p></li><li><p>Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product</p></li><li><p>Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications and Skills:</p><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Level 1: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 1 year of relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>Level 2: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 3 years of relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to design drawings, calculations, and specifications for Electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building Electrical systems.</p></li><li><p>US citizenship is required per contract requirement.</p></li><li><p>Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.</p></li><li><p>Travel up to 25% of the time to customer and project locations to coordinate electrical designs with team.</p></li></ul><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).</p></li><li><p>Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, Broad knowledge of the application of Electrical engineering design principles.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and layouts.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.</p></li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Level 1: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university.</p></li><li><p>Level 2: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 1 year of relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>Active Secret Security Clearance.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge in use of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.</p></li><li><p>Prior work experience in multi-project environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.</p></li><li><p>Experience developing equipment configuration packages for procurement and maintenance.</p></li><li><p>Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in USA (Electrical Engineering).</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience using Revit MEP, including Architectural interface, drawing generation, view templates, design options, and phasing.</p></li><li><p>Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs ISO-9000.</p></li><li><p>Basic knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.</p></li><li><p>Experience executing engineering design with Revit.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis tools such as ETAP.</p></li><li><p>Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.</p></li><li><p>Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design.</p></li><li><p>*#LI-SNH</p></li></ul><p>Shaping tomorrow together</p><p>Bechtel is one of the most respected global engineering, construction, and project management companies.
