Overview

i3 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Perform as an Electrical Engineer in support of electrical power systems on Army rotary wing aircraft.

  • Develop requirement specifications for electrical power generators and power conversion electronics such as transformer-rectifier units, inverters, and DC-DC converters.

  • Perform market research for generator / conversion electronics equipment.

  • Manage development and qualification efforts specific to power generation and power conversion components.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5-10 years of technical experience.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Experience with Army Aviation qualification process.

  • Knowledge of military aviation specifications and standards for electrical power.

  • Ability to manage complex projects while working effectively with others across multiple projects.

  • Ability to lead and understand electrical architecture trade studies and residual effects of power system decisions.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities * Duties will include (but are not limited to): * Successful applicant will work within the Core Stage Assemblies team which is responsible for the overall wire harness vehicle design and integration. This includes CAD wire harness routing and design integration efforts across the structures teams, wire harness design and drawing production, design ownership and vendor coordination, vehicle integration at Michoud Assembly Facility, vehicle checkout and acceptance/verification testing, and vehicle support to NASA during testing and post-delivery. * Tracking of parts development * Possible vendor on-site support * Vendor acceptance package reviews * Support to manufacturing engineering * Non-conformance processing * Tracking design and production completeness * Works under minimal supervision Qualifications Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): * This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. * Bachelor's Degree or higher * Experience in understanding requirements and how to apply them to vehicle design and ability to problem solve design issues * Harness routing and electrical design experience * Microsoft Excel experience (i.e. for modeling (equation development & use), charting, and analysis) * Microsoft Word and Power Point experience Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience): * PTC / Pro-E CREO CAD tool experience * NSPAR parts approval process experience * Understanding of NASA-STD-8739.4 for vendor certification * Capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activities concurrently Typical Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
