Electrical Engineer II
Merrick & Company's is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented individual to serve as an Electrical Engineer. The position will be located in Los Alamos, a small community located in the scenic high desert of Northern New Mexico. Los Alamos offers access to a wealth of outdoor activities, a family-friendly community, an excellent public school system and a low crime rate. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical engineering of for Nuclear Materials handling equipment.
Electrical engineering for installation of Nuclear Science Scientific Instrumentation.
Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional and/or complex problems, direction on modified techniques and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.
Works well independently and on teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Develops and applies knowledge and skills in a specific practice area
Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields and ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
Emerging experience in applying National Electrical Code.
Emergine experience in Electrical Calculation Software.
Ability to work with other electrical engineers and designers on concurrent projects
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
Previous U.S. Department of Energy experience a plus.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural-Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program
Minimum four (4) years of experience
Client projects for this position require US Citizenship
Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer.

May be required to travel to client facilities or fabrication and manufacturing facilities.
