HDR is seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer/EIT or Designer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in the KY/TN/AR area. Our team is looking for a candidate to meet the needs of our diverse client base including Water/Wastewater, Federal, Industrial, and Commercial projects.

We have a team with diverse experience and are actively seeking candidates with experience within one or more of the markets we serve. This individual should also have a desire to mentor and train younger electrical engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer/EIT or Designer, you will be responsible for leading a team and designing projects from start to finish. This will include coordinating and working closely with clients, project managers, electrical team members, architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, marketing members, and all other team members. VIEW JOBS 9/23/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-12-22T00:00 <p>Job Description</p><p>Supervises exempt, non-exempt and bargaining unit personnel under the Supervisory Engineer career path.</p><p>Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.</p><p>Plans and performs design, development and/or operating engineering assignments which could include responsibility for the engineering and construction of portions of a major project.</p><p>Coordinates the labor force assigned to each activity.</p><p>Coordinates activities of an assigned group with the various stages of an overall program.</p><p>Engineering assignments are broad in nature and incumbent will have the latitude of and the responsibility for unreviewed actions or decisions.</p><p>In some instances, incumbent will temporarily supervise or be assisted by personnel from engineering, technician, and craft levels.</p><p>Coordinates the activities of Engineer I and II, technician, and/or others assigned to specific projects, as necessary.</p><p>Supports various plant operations and maintenance groups with engineering based troubleshooting, problem analysis, and resolution.</p><p>Assists with the development of station/engineering goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures.</p><p>Plans and controls all activities so as to provide an accident-free work place.</p><p>Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.</p><p>Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.</p><p>Directs the activities of cooperative interns, bargaining unit employees and others, as instructed, as they perform various activities including installation or checkout of new equipment, troubleshooting, testing, tuning, etc.</p><p>Performs other duties as directed by management.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><p>Ability to use formal engineering training in practical application to power plant assignments.</p><p>Power plant operations and maintenance experience is preferred.</p><p>Experience with the maintenance and operation of power systems, process controls, generators, transformers, power cables, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, DCS - instrumentation &amp; controls, power electronics - VFD and excitation systems.</p><p>Familiarity with engineering software: SKM, Powerbase, PSS/E, PPPD, AutoCAD, PI, Tesla or other high speed fault recorder, interface and oscillography software for generator, transformer, bus and feeder relays.</p><p>Proficiency in electric circuit troubleshooting and power apparatus operation principles, familiarity with NERC compliance requirements as it relates to equipment testing, commissioning and startup procedures.</p><br> PPL Corporation Louisville KY
