Job Description:

Harris Night Vision is seeking a talented electrical engineer to develop hardware and embedded software for military applications including live operations. The developer will provide support for ongoing development contracts, turning up and debugging existing boards, develop new boards as needed as well as performing software functions needed for feature development. Candidate will work in small development teams on all aspects of the development life cycle including requirements, design, layout, coding, unit testing, and deployment. Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are required.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Equivalent

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • C programming experience

  • Generate a system design package including all the PCB design and layout, parts lists and other elements with minimal supervision from a SME

  • Experience turning up a board and verifying all the functionality and circuits.

  • Electrical engineering lab experience (debug, use of scopes, multi-meters, etc)

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Possess basic MS Office skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience designing for stringent performance, environmental and other requirements.

  • Prepare for design reviews and present material as part of both internal and external reviews

  • Participate in peer design reviews for the more complex electrical design approaches

  • Perform component searches and analysis to ensure that it is available and works in the system

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Board layout experience preferred
  • C++, Java, ModelSim or other VHDL testbench simulator, Cadence or other Board Design package use
  • EMI experience nice to have
  • RF experience nice to have

This includes an understanding of electrical system load and short circuit analysis * Understanding of Lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, Government and institutional facilities.
