At Jacobs our Electrical engineers provide a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. Our skills include power system planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, vertical transportation and construction coordination.
Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
Prepare load analysis for different stages of design
Prepare drawings detailing the system designed
Prepare basis of design report for the project
Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering (BSAE) required
4 years working for an MEP firm required
Proficient in Revit, 3D CADD required
United States citizenship is required
Ability to obtain United States Department of Defense security clearance is required
Experience working on data center, power, VPS systems, generator systems and medium voltage distribution projects preferred
Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork preferred
LEED AP preferred
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) holding an NCEES Council Record, or having the ability to quickly become registered in additional states, preferred.
Previous government, institutional, or commercial facilities background is preferred
Federal experience is preferred
