Position Summary

This is aclient support position in the Electrical Vehicle Charging Network (EVCN) group.Experience with major utility circuiting is a plus. The EVCN Project/Owner Electrical Engineerreports to the Chief Engineer of EVCN at PG&E and is responsible forproviding engineering, quality, and technology aspects of the EVCN deployment,including but not limiting to, reviewing and approving all project drawings byEPC contractors, creating and reviewing EVCN engineering and construction standards,assisting to create standardize major equipment, etc. The candidate should have practicableengineering knowledge and experience with an equivalent of a journey or seniorlevel engineer.

The candidate should have some understanding of howthe EV charging stations will impact the electric grid in distribution andtransmission level. The candidate mayassist Chief Engineer to provide technical advices to other organizations, suchas Grid Integration & Innovation (GII), Customer Care and Energy Procurement,on all EV related activities

Bachelor'sDegree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineeringor a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US orthe equivalent from outside the US.

Demonstratedsome knowledge in all aspects of engineering and design.


Master'sDegree in Engineering and/or MBA Degree

CurrentCalifornia PE license

Somerenewable, EV charger, and other technology knowledge

Utilityexperience in electric transmission, substation, and distribution system is aplus

Knowledge inNEC codes, building codes, and ADA codes

Knowledge inpermitting implication under various Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)

Some knowledgein transmission and distribution grid integration plan and strategy

Knowledge inrenewable and frontier EV technology trends

Knowledge instate and federal regulatory and policy trends

Good communication and interpersonal skill

NV5 is an ENR Top 500 firm; we offer a full range of professional services in offices throughout the U.S. NV5, Inc. is seeking a qualified Electrical Plan Review Engineer, Part Time As Needed, with a minimum of five years of experience in energy projects to perform review of client engineering documents for adherence to California building codes and all relevant law, ordinances, regulations and standards. Typical project types include power generation facilities (renewable and fossil fuel), electric transmission, gas transmission and associated facilities as well as industrial development. Successful candidates can work remotely or from the Sacramento office. Responsibilities * Perform review of engineering documents to verify compliance will applicable codes, laws, ordinances, regulations and standards. * Review complex engineering documents to ensure compliance with current codes and standards. * Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in periodic project meetings and scheduled on-site visits. * Compile code compliance plan review corrections needed in a clear manner and be able to discuss, explain and answer client questions in writing and orally. * Occasional project site visits may be required. * Attend project meetings via teleconference as required. Some on location meetings may also be required. * Other duties as assigned Qualifications * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university, and five (5) or more years of experience in engineering design and review of electrical systems for energy projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Current CA PE certification required. * Must have a familiarity with all engineering and design requirements for power generation and/or transmission projects and all applicable codes and standards. * Must be able to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.
