Electrical Engineer I Job Posting
Responsibilities
Prepare calculations, schematic designs, layouts, reports, etc. for energy infrastructure projects involving oil, gas,
LNG, CNG, and propane systems and equipment.
Exercise discretion and judgment and apply engineering principles to meet project challenges.
Contribute to teams that help clients meet the challenges of energy delivery system operation and development.
Attend client meetings - days or nights.
With minimum supervision (PE oversight only):
Specify conductor size and type for electric services, feeders, and branch circuits
Specify protective devices (fuses, circuit breakers) for motor circuits and other equipment circuits
Develop One-Line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules
Specify wiring for low voltage control circuits, including 12 and 24 VDC, 4-20 mA, digital communications, etc.
Develop cathodic protection and related electrical isolation and transient suppression plans for process piping
systems.
Specify lighting fixtures for industrial facilities
Apply all of the above to Hazardous Locations such as oil and gas facilities.
Specify process instruments, design instrumentation and control systems
Configure PLC-based systems
Produce basic process safety documents such as Cause/Effect Diagrams
Produce P&IDs from PFDs
Oversee and direct more junior engineers
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other industry specific standards such as API
RP500, 49 CFR Parts 192, 193 and 195.
Interface effectively with staff in other engineering disciplines such as civil, structural and mechanical.
Direct and supervise work of drafters, technicians, and subcontractors.
Project engineering that may include writing equipment specifications, sizing and evaluation of equipment, writing
project reports, project scheduling, preparation of project cost estimates, the economic evaluation of projects, etc.
Progress toward engineer licensure.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Work Environment
Must be able to work outdoors and on construction sites.
The employee must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and extended keyboard use and reading of computer
screen.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the
ability to adjust focus.
May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

Key Qualifications
Proven experience in solving complex problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed
actions and implement recommendations to support goals.
Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering.
Ability to lead a small team of engineers, field survey teams, designers, and/or drafters to complete project tasks.
The ability to communicate effectively and foster/maintain relationships with clients.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor degree in electrical engineering.
Five to twelve years of experience.
EIT Preferred
Travel
Position may require travel (up to 40%); valid driver s license and acceptable DMV record required.
Must live within 30 minutes of office location
