Our services include construction management and inspection, environmental consulting, civil design and BIM/VDC. EnTech is committed to delivering high quality and innovation through advanced engineering and technology.EnTech is currently seeking an "Electrical Engineer / Inspector" for a project in New York City. This position will be involved with construction inspection of a water resources project.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination, daily inspection and providing technical input with electrical installations, repairs or alterations to ensure conformance to codes, standards, plans or specifications
  • Prepare daily inspection reports during construction
  • Make special reports as required
  • Supervise junior electrical inspectors
  • Attend Client meetings
  • Coordination with city and state permitting agencies/authorities as applicable
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 3 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • NYS P.E License preferred but not required
  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety, fall protection, confined space entry required
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, building and energy codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Our Electrical Engineers, while specializing in moveable bridge rehabilitation and design, support a diverse project portfolio including bridge electrical infrastructure design, low and medium voltage switchgear, infrastructure generator selection and evaluation, roadway lighting design, field inspection, movable bridge and movable roof design, and electrical infrastructure design for transportation stations. We work in both traditional design-bid-build and design-build/Public-Private-Partnership delivery methods. This position performs advanced level electrical engineering design and construction supervision and support services tasks. This position will be based in Parsons New York City Office, with remote/hybrid working arrangements available. While the position is based in NYC, our NYC operations support projects throughout the US and Canada. Modest travel may be required from time to time. Proof of full COVID vaccination status required to meet NYC mandates.</p><p>With minimal supervision you will be expected to perform conventional and complex electrical engineering assignments applying electrical engineering design techniques and analyses. The position also entails coordinating electrical work with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, civil).</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, design and installation packages, technical reports, cost estimates, detailed analyses and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.</p><p>Typical design tasks include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><p>Extensive familiarity with Codes and Standards relating to the application areas</p></li><li><p>Fixed and Moveable bridge power and control system design, inspection and rehabilitation</p></li><li><p>Low and Medium Voltage electrical distribution systems including protective relaying.</p></li><li><p>Roadway and tunnel lighting calculations and design</p></li><li><p>Lightning Protection and Grounding. Surge protection.</p></li><li><p>Standby power generation. Uninterruptible power supplies.</p></li><li><p>Utility-related work and utilities relocation</p></li><li><p>Electrical equipment and infrastructure sizing and functional calculations including power systems studies</p></li></ul><p>Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li><p>Possible travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations to inspect various facets of work and to perform acceptance testing.</p></li><li><p>Perform stage and final inspection of electrical equipment and installations both new and existing installations. Write inspection reports and design studies.</p></li><li><p>Frequently interface with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.</p></li><li><p>Review supplier drawing submittals, respond to field requests for information.</p></li></ul><p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</p><p>BS degree in Electrical Engineering required.</p><ul><li><p>4+ years of heavy industrial/facilities electrical design related experience.
