Summary

Responsible for new productdevelopment including electronic architecture design, detailed circuit designand analysis, prototyping circuits, implementing designs, and discoveringinnovative solutions to complex problems/systems. Researches and analyzes experimental data, customer designproposals, specifications, and manuals. Ensurescompliance with medical device quality management system design controlsincluding risk analyses such as a hazard analysis, DFMEA, etc. Effectively communicates their project workand status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform detailedelectronic design for products used in a wide variety of applications.

  • Develop reliable, costeffective, manufacturable electronic products from initial studying of customerrequirements through documenting design verification activities.

  • Perform circuitanalysis, simulations and concept/feasibility design activities.

  • Conduct design analysison components and/or assemblies.

  • Create detailed blockdiagrams & circuit schematics.

  • Lead and/or supportprinted circuit board layout activities

  • Lead and/or supportprototype build & test activities..

  • Write technicaldocuments such as:

  • Design specifications.

  • Verification test plans & reports.

  • Hazard Analysis and other DHF deliverables.

  • Lead and/or supportdevelopment & integration with mechanical and software engineering.

  • Practice goodengineering design process; version control, lead design reviews, documenteddesign history, complete projects within budgetary and scheduling goals.

  • Work and communicatewith leaders, engineers and project managers to ensure project completion.

  • Support project planningand project proposal efforts.

  • Present verbally inone-on-one or group settings.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May assist with carrying out supervisoryresponsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicablelaws. These responsibilities may includeinterviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; or fourplus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience. Experiencewith the product development process ranging from requirements development,prototyping, verification and product release and experience in medical devicedesign or other regulated industries are preferred.
