Job Description

The Co-op Program includes up to 3 sessions in either the Co-op or internship employment arrangement. For example, the Co-Op typically works 3 alternating semesters or is coordinated to the university academic schedule.

Sealed Air has a strong history of successful co-op and internship placements within the organization, increasing your chances of being chosen as a full-time new hire upon completion of education. The global Innovation and Development (I&D) leadership team supports this avenue to build our next generation of leaders in science and engineering. Our positions could include experiences such as:

  • Plan and conduct laboratory research projects in areas of food, medical packaging, or protective packaging

  • Work with Application Experts in their field

  • Participate as a member of a project team

  • Present to Leadership Teams at the end of each rotation

Each session of the program is developed to be a project assignment. The participant will complete a formal presentation to higher level leadership about the outcomes at the end of each session.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct experiments for the development of new products and processes under the direction of an experience scientist or engineer

  • Apply area of study for development of new products and processes

  • Analyze results and assist with decision-making for next steps

  • Prepare and modify engineering drawings for ongoing projects

  • Assist in the design of electrical schematics and assist in building of electrical panels

  • Modify and Create PLC and HMI code for machine

  • Prepare reports and present results at technical meetings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed at least 1.5 years towards a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

  • 3.0 or higher GPA

  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship

  • Able to provide own transportation to the internship/co-op location

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong academic record

  • Knowledgeable about general lab and machine shop practices

  • Creative and a strong problem solver

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Typical responsibilities include performing daily route check-ins, providing feedback to management team on overall performance, execution, and customer service skills of operations front line associates, periodically filling in on routes to cover for sick days, vacation, etc, and performing other duties as required or assigned by management. The A2L in this career track must also prioritize safety, cost control, and growth. A valid driver's license is required for these positions. Qualifications: Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree required. (Must graduate between December 2017 – August 2019 to be eligible for the FY19 A2L Program). Start dates are in February and July 2019. All degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date of the program (including any final internship requirements). * Strong organizational and time management skills required. * Leadership skills, inclusive of supervisory responsibilities, team lead in a club/organization, and/or project management. * The ability to communicate in an appropriate, clear, and concise manner with customers, clients, employees and leadership. * The ability to manage through change and ambiguity in a fast pace environment. * Cost control, budget responsibilities or inventory management experience desired. * Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends or holidays according to business need. * Ability / openness to relocation according to program / business need. * Valid driver's license preferred. * Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. * Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future.
