Climber has an opening for an accomplished Electrical Engineer to join a small team building an ecosystem of exercise gear for office workers.

We now want to test market prototypes and are looking for a talented electrical engineer to join the founding team.

We are looking for a true engineer:

This is a new full-time position. Outside engineering firms have designed and built current prototypes. We want to bring design and prototype constuction in-house for faster innovation and commercialization.

Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, independant contributor requiring minimal oversight. Candidate must have an eye for quality (user controls, hardware/software reliability and responsiveness) while balancing cost of manufacturing and market demand.

Compensation package is very flexible depending on experience and candidate's potential for senior management role. Strong candidates will be eligible for significant stock options in addition to competitive base comp and benefits. Climber is funded by World.com, a large holding company with multiple operating businesses including Doctor.com and Lawyer.com, partnerships including Scientist.com and Sweet.io, and investments in crypto related assets.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in studies, standardized tests and competitions.
  • Proficient in circuit design software
  • Experience with motor design and speed controllers.
  • Experience with Arduino and similar microprocessor platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 2+ years design experience
  • Highly analytical, able to optimize diverse requirements into innovative solutions
  • Passion for learning and mastering new skills
  • Excel in a fast-moving startup environment
  • A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability

Optional Requirements:

  • Experience developing own products
  • E-commerce site design
  • Supply chain experience - U.S. and China
  • Exercise equipment design.
  • Quality control and six sigma practices.
  • Familiarity with IOT devices, cloud ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with WebRTC device communication protocols.
  • Experience with Python, LAMP stack, Node.js, javascript.

Responsibilities We're looking for someone with expertise in development of networking software for more efficient and reliable network communications in disconnected, intermittent wireless environments. * Knowledge of computer networking with emphasis on wireless mobile networks, wireless systems engineering, and Internet technologies (TCP/IP protocol stack; unicast, multicast, and overlay routing protocols). We are developing intelligent network operations software with an automated failover mechanism to assist networks to overcome limitations, improve the ability to sense, and adapt the network quickly to real-time dynamic changes in the environment in different threat and mission scenarios. Intelligent switching through alternative communications links will allow the network to be more resilient in a contested and congested environment, reduce the time to configure networks, and allow all phases of mission operations to be executed effectively. By automating the network behavior, our software will allow the network to be aware of the environment and hence will make the network resilient due to changing factors, such as node movement, terrain interference, intentional / unintentional signal interference, and network congestion. This position involves applied technology testing in diverse areas related to wireless systems architectures and protocols. Lab equipment setup, configuration, troubleshooting, networking software testing in disconnected, intermittent wireless environments. This position involves simulation of tactical network conditions, and capturing and analyzing network data from diverse hardware and software components. Primary work location is Basking Ridge, NJ. Candidate may alternatively take an office in Red Bank NJ, but we cannot eliminate the requirement to work in Basking Ridge at times. Telecommuting is permitted, but not full-time telecommuting. Hands-on work in lab will be required at times. Travel to Maryland required, estimated at 10-20%. Qualifications Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
