Job Summary

As a key member of the QP Hydraulics Team, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing all tasks related to new Electrical designs/modifications and testing needs as requested. The Electrical Engineer may have to work with other personnel for collaborating on projects. Strong teamwork and prompt communication is essential, as the position offers a small company environment that provides close involvement and communication with other engineering project team members, purchasing, vendors, manufacturing and customers. This particular role can be a full or part time position with flexible work hours. Potential to work from home but must be able to come into the office when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the success of assigned tasks including the engineering, design, purchasing, factory testing, installation and commissioning facets of the project

  • Understand and meet customer project goals

  • Participate in APQP, FMEA (P and D) and Risk analyses for various projects.

  • Use standard products and processes

  • Ensure system engineering is complete prior to beginning work on detailed engineering and design

  • Manage and track project progress and performance

  • Report project progress and performance to senior management on a monthly basis

  • Work on multiple projects

  • Support Engineering Division as requested

  • Perform the initial prototype/pilot production build and functional tests

  • Develop, train and/or perform test instruction documents destined for production

  • May be assigned additional responsibilities and/or projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical engineering

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with CAN bus system and industry standards (5+ years)

  • Experience with 3D modeling and integration of electrical circuits/PCB

  • Excellent working knowledge of electrical schematics, PCB Design

  • Strong programming skills (C/C++ and Python)

  • Electrical system design

  • Electrical hardware testing/certification experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel in excess of 15% domestically and internationally

  • Able to perform all essential functions of the job

Desirable Skills or Attributes

  • Professional engineering registration

  • Lab View programing

  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability

  • Knowledge/Experience in EPDM or any PDM system

  • Spanish and or Chinese language skills

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to confidently correspond with customers via oral and written means

  • Ability to motivate and inspire personnel to keep project moving toward successful completion

  • Ability to travel to China

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision

  • Able to wear personal protective equipment; hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes etc.

  • Able to work for any employer in the United States

  • Be a self-starter, effectively perform duties without guidance

  • Display a positive can do attitude

  • Excellent customer relations skills

  • Fluent in English language

  • High level organizational skills with ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure

  • Possess a strong attention to detail

  • Possess strong hydraulic and mechanical aptitude

  • Proficient use of personal computer, operating knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project

  • Shall sign Prince Industries confidentiality agreement

  • Shall work as required to complete work requirements

  • Simultaneously execute multiple projects

  • Strong communication skills, ability to correspond confidently with customers and project team

  • Valid driver's license, able to be insured

  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one

  • Willingness to learn new skills and approaches to dealing with problems

  • Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment

This includes revamping, renovating, engineering studies, expansion and new construction of buildings, labs, offices, manufacturing plants or utilities. * Project execution: Manage all phases of the project from concept through implementation, with a focus on overall project management and coordination. Accomplish scope development, cost estimates, project justification, design, and construction phases of assigned projects. Must provide high-quality work within budget and time constraints and observing all the design and construction parameters (EH&S, GMP, federal, state, local & company regulations). * Cost control/management: Manage outside contractors, engineering services, and consultants to complete assignments. Develop scope and expectations for each outside service/contractor and monitor progress, quality of work, and cost. Recognize cost deviation ahead of time and apply corrective measures. * Team Collaboration: Manage multi-disciplined teams, reviewing performance and progress. Identify gaps and develop action plans to keep all on track and able to achieve desired end results. Produce all required design documents: Develop specifications and sketches necessary to complete projects. Obtain bids, construction services, and complete purchases of required equipment and services. You? * Bachelor of Science (or MS) degree in Engineering and 5 or more years elated experience. * Project management skills and the ability to influence direction of high complexity, large-scale projects. Accomplished in capital project design, cost estimation, and schedule monitoring, plus experience managing multidisciplinary teams (including internal specialists, clients, senior management, consultants and contractors). * Can analyze current processing techniques and drive improvements and change management. * Technical skills with a working, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and MS Project is required.
