Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an

Electrical E ngineer to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.

The successful candidate will be required to perform engineering calculations and analysis within the scope of engineering discipline and provide rigorous written documentation supporting design decisions. Effectively interface with various departments including QA, Procurement, Project Management, Operations and Maintenance personnel. Provide technical field leadership support to solve equipment malfunctions. Maintain system configuration documentation including but not limited to system drawings, design specifications, trending analysis, and system health indicators including performing system health walk downs and system health reports. Maintain qualification on annual training covering commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures used to complete the engineering process. Track and perform assignments, develop project schedules, cost estimates, and statement of work for projects as required. Will perform electrical or instrument/control design, new design implementation, modification/evaluation of existing systems, perform routine inspections for adherence to applicable building/construction codes/regulations; engineering design change processes, and configuration design control.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience at a DOE or nuclear power generation site is desired.

  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) License or the capability to obtain a PE license is preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills are a plus.

  • Previous WIPP experience preferred.

Are you our next Co-op Student Engineer? The Co-op Student Engineer is responsible for providing support to assigned department by designing and executing engineering projects.
