DRS Land Systems is seeking to hire a full time Electrical Engineer I in the Spring of 2019. This position provides supports and participates in technical activity. Designs, develops, analyzes, documents and supports testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Entry Level Engineer performing the following activities:
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of military products, systems or subsystems
Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction develops designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers, engineering technicians and support personnel
Involved with the design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of military hardware and/or systems
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Related technical field
Knowledge on developing military hardware and integration of hardware onto a military system including vehicle cabling experience is a plus.
Must have knowledge on and experience with engineering drawing applications (experience with CANVAS a plus).
Knowledge using military grade components for cable design a plus. (Military grade connectors, shielding, environmental seals, backshells etc.)
Must have experience interfacing hardware components into a complete system.
Assist engineers in designing and maintaining system Interface Control Documents (ICD).
Rugged Electrical systems experience and mechanical aptitude is a plus.
