Job Description: & Qualifications

Electrical Distribution Harness Engineer (FSS design)

  • Manage 3D routing and package CAD layout activity

  • Support Logical and physical schematic development

  • Utilize best design for manufacturing, assembly, and failure mode avoidance practices

  • Create and maintain program specific foundation documents

  • Direct manufacturing print development, sign-off, and release

  • Create and maintain harness family complexity

  • Direct and maintain installation illustrations

  • Maintain design version control

  • Manage component and harness part delivery

  • Perform master harness assessment and part sign-off

  • Manage manufacturing supplier tooling development, DV/PV, PPAP

  • Support vehicle assembly plant builds on-site

  • Address vehicle assembly issues, make necessary design changes

  • Review pre-production vehicles for potential campaignable warranty impact. Raise and resolve AIMS

Required Qualifications:

  • BSME or BSEE
  • 3 years of wiring experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical system or functional knowledge of vehicle wiring system

  • Working knowledge of vehicle development process (GPDS), change control process (WERS), and launch experience

  • Prefer wiring or electrical systems experience

Job Description * Responsible for connected vehicle feature deployment and vehicle program support for North America based programs. * Interface with product/feature owners, system engineers, IT and mobile application teams to ensure proper execution of the features on vehicle programs. * Have a good understanding of connectivity eco-system which includes vehicle, cloud and mobile app interface. Ensure that each feature works as defined within this eco-system and ensure that the feature meets both design intent and customer expectations. * Verify that the feature is correctly defined for the program and individual trim levels, including any connected vehicle dependencies to ascertain connected vehicle product/feature success and compliance. * Manage the product development process from concept to final verification sign-off, including oversight of verification status, and vehicle/breadboard/simulation based sign-off in support of vehicle milestones. * Manage quality metrics, problem resolution tools, and validation results for the features. * Ensure that all program deliverables are executed with high quality.
