JOB DUTIES

  • Plan and design electrical power systems for buildings and facilities, including hospitals, light rail, laboratories, high rise offices, educational facilities and other commercial and institutional projects.

  • Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls for assigned projects.

  • Provide electrical design and performance specifications for lighting, lighting controls, power and low voltage system.

  • Engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection for low and medium voltage.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines and Clients.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-6 years of experience as an Electrical Designer working with infrastructure and/or building systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • EIT a plus.

  • Solid understanding and experience with REVIT and AutoCAD design software in MEP.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and some experience working with Clients.

  • Excellent planning and organization skills.

  • Knowledge of sustainable design strongly desired.

  • LEED AP BD+C accreditation is highly desired.

  • WELL Certification a plus.

SUMMARY You will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for every electrical system in a heavy industrial environment at Ash Grove Cement's Seattle plant. From medium voltage motor control to fiber optic fusion splicing this position has it all. We perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, design new systems, perform new installations, and provide support for a multitude of other plant needs. The majority of work is completed as a part of a team. However, there are plenty of opportunities to work solo on certain projects. Each member of the team is expected to become proficient in every skill set required for our normal job duties. On the job training is provided for all duties. You will need a willingness to learn and a positive attitude is required. There will be times of required overtime and on occasion a change of work schedule. We have a rotating callout schedule. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Performs preventative maintenance on: EPA regulated extractive gas analyzers, extractive gas analyzer systems for other processes, large horse power air cooled motors, natural gas firing equipment for a rotary cement kiln, and pulverized coal processing and dosing systems. * Troubleshoots and repairs: Plant wide PLC control system, MCC (Motor Control Center) equipment, AC VFDs and DC VSDs, plant wide fiber optic and copper Ethernet communication system, and plant IP network video system in addition to all electrical circuits and systems associated with cement manufacturing. * Calibrates and provides documentation for: weigh scales, weigh feeders, temperature/pressure transducers, and opacity monitoring equipment for environmental compliance. * Collaborates on design and installation: Motor control equipment, networking equipment, process efficiency improvements, power saving technologies, and condition monitoring systems. * Always be ready and willing to react to the plants needs to ensure production goals are met * Consistently provide excellent and courteous electrical support to all plant personnel.
