Designs components or portions of systems, and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them. Has extensive knowledge in specialized function and a strong understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed under minimal supervision. Interacts with internal and external personnel on matters of significant importance.
Works under the direction of the Electrical overall Lead Designer or area Lead Designer at the project level
Performs drafting of all types of electrical drawings
Performs Raster image manipulation
Functional skills in the use of Smartplant review or other 3D model review programs
Functional skills in the use of LFM or other Laser Scan tools
Provide drawing layout and design development, applying industry and client standards and codes
Assist on 3D modelling
A good working understanding of materials and material specification
Assist in the development of Total Installed Cost (TIC) and engineering estimates
Continues development of his technical knowledge, skills and potential
Interact with our work-share offices, provide coordination
6 years of experience on medium sized or larger capital projects, from project inception to startup is required
Current knowledge of EPC work processes, administrative practices as well as familiarity with the various project phases and the scope/deliverables required
Good understanding of the NEC and industry standards is required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
CADD Drafting skills (AutoCAD and/or Microstation) required
Functional MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) required
Development of skills in 3D modeling, including use of laser scan preferred
Functional understanding of the Electrical Estimating System (EES) preferred
Some exposure to 3D modeling is preferred
Some exposure to the Electrical Estimating System (EES) is preferred
Associate's degree or higher preferred
