Electrical Designer

CV Engineering is seeking a Senior and Junior Electrical Designer with electrical system design experience in an industrial facility. Design experience in steel facilities is considered a significant plus.

The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities: The candidate should be a resident of the United States with valid work authorization. This is an on-site position, so the applicant must either be willing to relocate or already be local.

Utilize Revit software to prepare 3D and 2D layout and design drawings which meet company and industry standards and codes. Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques. Prepares CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.

Applies standard drafting/design principles to complete assignments. Ensure compliance with company and client policies and applicable standards and codes such as ANSI, NEMA, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA etc. Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as: motor and electrical load lists; panel schedules; bills of materials. Assists the Department Manager in maintaining the project design schedule and budget.

Confers and coordinates with the Electrical Engineers regarding any information required for completion of the design. Interface with project management and project engineers during the design, execution, and startup phase of projects Confers and coordinates with other disciplines to assure compliance with design requirements, company standards and procedures, industry codes and standards, and client criteria. As a Senior Designer may direct, guide, and check the work of a team of CAD designers and CAD drafters on a project.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2-year technical degree from an accredited program. Electrical systems / basic electricity coursework included. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit design software experience is required.

Minimum 3-10 years relevant experience in an electrical design engineering and in industrial environment Electrical power system design experience for industrial facilities. Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products and other computer software used to complete design assignments. Knowledge in Raceways/Conduit, lighting, cable trays, Cable Size.

Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques. Provisional Engineers are preferred local to FL & Electrical Design Engineers are preferred from PA region.
