Project Overview:

Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on TerraPower's Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. TerraPower, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium. The Natrium plant features an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also features an innovative molten salt energy storage system designed to be complementary to solar and wind power by evening out the peaks and valleys in production when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing. With the reactor and energy storage output combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWe of power. Other Team Natrium partners include GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Energy Northwest, PacifiCorp, and Duke Energy, along with support from a number of national laboratories and universities. This DOE Program has the potential to be the largest funding program for advanced nuclear power in U.S. history and will shape the future of nuclear energy for decades. Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for electrical engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design. #LI-SNH

Major Responsibilities:

• Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway).

• Responsible for raceway design, equipment location, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit, and aboveground raceway design.

• Works under the direction of senior engineers/designers.

• Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.

• Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures.

• Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards

Education and Experience Requirements

• AA/AS degree with 2 years of related design experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related design experience.

• Must be a United States citizen or hold Permanent Residency/Green Card.

• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs.

• Hands-on use or classes using industry wide design/drafting tools such as 2D/3D CAD.

• Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines.

• Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.

• Excellent oral & written communications skills.
