Safran Aerosystems is a world leader in aircraft electrical distribution, inflatable safety and water and waste management systems. It is also a major supplier of oxygen systems, telemetry and communication solutions, in-flight entertainment systems or fuel systems.

Conduct general engineering and design of electrical/electronic systems (including control systems) integrated into new products and improvements of existing products. Ensure new product designs meet the established design requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in definition of design parameters and specifications at a component level.

  • Assume design responsibility, through all the development phases, up to and including engineering release.

  • Generate supporting design documentation, including bills of material, schematic prints, layout prints, interconnect diagrams, cable lengths, routing details, etc.

  • Attend and present design reviews.

  • Conduct simulation-based analysis to prove design before prototyping.

  • Utilize embedded programming to support control systems and design testing

  • Conduct integration tests to verify functional operation.

  • Develop test fixtures and test procedures for component and system level testing.

Qualifications:

Education

Required BS Electrical Engineering Preferred MS Electrical Engineering

Experience

Required 3 to 5 years design engineering

Preferred 3 to 5 years design engineering in an aerospace environment

Special Knowledge/Skills

Required Electrical/Electronic design and simulation software, MS Office suite of software

PURPOSE: Berry Global has an immediate opening for an Application Development Engineer in the Consumer Packaging Division. This position is responsible for all technical aspects of a development project from the point of research to full production capability including all milestones, product and performance specifications, project budget and schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Project team leader with the authority to execute within the boundaries of the project, and the accountability to deliver the results of a project in the context of agreed-upon internal or external customer expectations, commitment and constraints * Coordinate and manage all aspects of projects from concept, quoting, product development, unit tooling, and commercialization * Act as technical counterpart to the commercial leader (sales / account manager) and control all project aspects including cost, timeline, and specifications * Has responsibility for development, execution, and maintenance of a current project plan and decisions regarding the project within the overall envelope of approved time, cost and scope; can change strategy, approach or activity definitions to accomplish the same results within the same window * Has authority to execute the project in order to reach the intended results. Has the power to enforce or influence behaviors or actions of the project team that are necessary to attain the results for which they are being held accountable * Direct technical interface with customers - sole responsibility to develop and communicate time, cost, and deliverable project components, either direct or through the Account Manager * Must be assertive, creative, and data driven to keep projects on time and within budget to meet deliverables while practicing intelligent risk management (such as FMEA) with consultation from team members, peers, and senior management * Responsible for reporting deviations on time, cost, and deliverable project components to senior management as project progresses * Responsible for adherence to Berry, industry, and/or regulatory procedures * Responsible for adherence to all Berry mandated safety protocols and procedures * Responsible for closing a project and conducting a post project review for the continuous improvement of Berry Global on future projects QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging, Polymer Science or equivalent experience * 5 years' experience with injection and/or compression molding * Ability to travel as needed (20-50%) * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Knowledge in statistical methods and programs (SPC/DOE/MiniTab) * Self-motivated individual * Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and be results-oriented * Project Management experience required * Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously * Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required for data driven project management Berry Global Group Lancaster MN
