i3 has an immediate opening for an Electrical Design Engineer


  • Work closely with a senior mechanical engineer utilizing 3-D computer aided design (CAD) tools to create component and system designs supporting model development and associated fabrication drawings for Department of Defense missile launcher systems.

  • Perform conceptual and detailed design of system components.

  • Design for manufacturing and cost.

  • Develop manufacturing models and drawings meeting industry standard formats to support technical data packages.

  • Experience with cable design, (sizing cables, connectors, shielding requirements) schematic layout, circuit analysis.

  • Interact with design, electrical, and mechanical engineering leads.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience required.

  • Significant experience with Zuken and CREO tools.

  • Secret clearance and the ability to maintain an active DoD Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Must have a Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, IEEE and ASME standards including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Drawing Standards for level II and level III Technical Data Packages (TDP's).

  • Experience with flight hardware design.

  • Have excellent verbal, presentation and written skills and be able to work with a diverse team of internal organizations and suppliers.

VIEW JOBS 1/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-08T00:00 Overview QuantiTech is currently accepting applications for an Electrical Design Engineer to support a U.S. Army customer on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. As an Engineer the candidate will support System of Systems (SoS) development. Responsibilities Duties to include, but not limited to: * Develop test instrumentation hardware to support Counter UAS testing * Develop wireless RF comms link prototypes and limited production units * Develop software to support prototype wireless comms systems * Work alongside U.S. Government and Industry contractor personnel to design and develop force protection systems to provide U.S. warfighters and their allies the tools they need to accomplish their mission and return home safely. * Leverage previous engineering experience to develop requirements, specifications, and test plans for force protection weapon systems both new and existing. * Support System of Systems testing at live fire ranges and in simulated lab environments. * Develop custom tools to parse and analyze system logs. * Perform detailed engineering analysis of test results and provide report with recommendations to government leadership. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * BS Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of data communication design and prototype development * Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain the required DoD security clearance. Must be able to maintain required clearance. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% as required Desired Qualifications * Wireless mesh networking design, RF transceivers, embedded controller design, PCB layout, electronic fabrication * Software Programming in Java, Python, C++, Matlab, Altium * Experience managing DoD products through the full development lifecycle. * Experience working in defense or government user experience projects.
