Electrical Design Engineer (Entry to Mid-Level)

Design, implement, bring-up, and test cables and interconnect circuit cards while teaming with various engineering discipline (system, software, mechanical, test, and manufacturing).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate and implement, analog and digital cables, interconnects and circuits

  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions

  • Document and present trade studies, analyses, test results, status, etc. to the team

  • Generate design and interface documentation

  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify hardware

  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications

  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidates should have effective leadership skills, technical acumen, an educational background and expertise (experience preferred) in analog and digital signal design, development and troubleshooting;

  • Experience in low level analog and digital signal design;

  • Have in-depth knowledge of and practical experience with system/product development from cradle to grave in a defense acquisition program or similar.

  • Working knowledge of power, signal integrity, and digital interface design;

  • Experience PSPICE development environment, critical parts selection, schematic entry using OrCAD Capture, power analysis

  • Strong documentation and writing skills; be able to rapidly adapt to handling electronic system technical issues found in system integration labs, field environments and during production: and be able to steadily develop knowledge/expertise across the various tactical baselines and platforms.

  • Understanding of systems and electronics troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Physical and Mental Requirements for all positions:

  • Prolonged stationary periods at a desk

  • General ability to operate computer and other productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds at times

  • Effectively communicate with others

  • Ability to stay focused and provide attention to detail.

  • Ability to think analytically and apply problem solving skills to scenarios throughout the course of the workday
