The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Missile & Weapon Systems team. Boeing Missile & Weapons Systems (MWS) has recently been awarded multiple US Department of Defense (US DoD) contracts to provide products and engineering services to support many of our nation's critical defense and deterrence systems. These systems employ electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, chemical, and other technologies to create some of the most complex and leading-edge technological systems in the world. This Level 2 position can be located at any one of the following locations: Huntsville, AL; Albuquerque, NM; Heath, OH; Saint Charles, MO.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintains detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products

  • Develops detailed designs of limited scope

  • Conducts various methods of testing and analysis to support design

  • Gathers data for technical performance measures and performs basic analysis

  • Provides basic engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product

  • Conducts trade studies and literature research to support future product designs

  • Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Course-work and / or experience in one or more of these focused areas: analog and / or digital circuits, power supply and distribution, firmware / FPGA, control systems, computers, networks, communication, wiring, RF, or Electro Magnetic Compatibility

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance (Post-Start)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related science or technology field degree

Typical Education / Experience:

Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This Level 2 position can be located at any one of the following locations: Huntsville, AL; Albuquerque, NM; Heath, OH; Saint Charles, MO. This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area(s) or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Individual will be responsible for evolution of customer driven concepts into detailed electrical design drawings in compliance with UFC 1-200-1 DOD Building Code and all NFPA / Life Safety codes. Individual will be responsible for time coordinated team/project design reviews with AvMC Directorate Elements and DPW. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Facility electrical design in accordance Department of Defense (DOD) Unified Facility Criteria (UFC 1-200-01), National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Trade Codes and current Life Safety Codes. * Provides direct technical and engineering support to the government project manager. * Represents the user/customer as the prime technical contact on project contracts.Interacts with Senior Facility Engineer on daily basis on technical matters requiring coordination between Government organizations. * Prepare cost estimates, project scope of work and monthly progress reports. * Develops comprehensive facility condition assessments and associated Installation Facility Status (IFS) Reports. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * B.S. in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Engineering. * Minimum four (4) years of experience. * Secret level security clearance or ability to obtain one. * CAD experience required. MicroStation V8i CAD preferred. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Professional Engineer license is a plus. * Experience in facility engineering design services, including planning, design, inspection and construction management is preferred. * Background with Federal installation facilities and Army Corp of Engineers operations and plans is a plus.
