The Controls Engineer is responsible for developing control systems for conduit layouts, cable schedules and associated drawings for installation of thermal processing equipment and related combustion systems, blower systems and all ancillary controls surrounding the thermal processing equipment. This includes PLC and HMI software development as well as the design and production of electrical schematics.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Plans logic system for functions such as sequence and timing control.
Designs and drafts diagrams of cable connection for thermal processing equipment and other machines.
Illustrates and describes installation and maintenance details such as where bearings should be lubricated, types of lubrication and which parts are lubricated automatically and manually.
Reviews schematics with customer's representatives to answer questions during installation of thermal processing equipment.
May confer with assembler and wirer to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
May design controls for energy conversion or other industrial plant monitoring systems.
Create controls solutions for our engineered combustion system projects. Select control panel components, develop bills of material, create and manage schematic drawings and release the documentation to manufacturing.
The individual will act as the controls solution project manager and will manage the schedule for design, manufacture, software integration, shipment and commissioning support.
Develop and program the control software and operator interfaces.
Must stay current with hardware and software offerings from Rockwell and Siemens.
Must manage multiple simultaneous projects.
Must learn and stay current with all applicable combustion and electrical standards both internal and external standards.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
Strong working knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens automation systems, tools, and components
Experience with continuous process control systems (temperatures, pressures, etc.)
Must be able to read P&IDs
Strong working knowledge NFPA79 or UL508A
Thorough understanding of control reliability and safety
Combustion experience and working knowledge or NFPA 85, 86, and 87 is a strong plus
Associate's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and training in Controls Applications (Minimum) or;
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and training in Controls Applications (Preferred)
Training in Auto CAD Electrical (Preferred)
