Your Role

Join Atlas Copco as an Electrical Controls Engineer where you will design upgraded controls systems for centrifugal compressors. You will also provide support to Application Engineering for control system proposals. As part of the Engineered Solutions Team, you will report to the Engineering Project Leader and work with the Aftermarket department. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

• You will provide support to application engineers for quoting and during follow-up customer discussions.

• You will interpret customer specifications, requirements, and site details to define upgraded control system.

• You will select enclosures, instruments, and PLC hardware in accordance to the job specification, site area, and local electrical codes.

• You will design the control system to meet the required job parameters and fit into existing equipment skid and the physical job site.

• You will use CAD for design work.

• You will coordinate with the PLC Programmer to ensure the control system meets the necessary requirements.

• You will create job P&ID, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, controls panel layout drawings material lists, input/output lists, and bill of materials.

• You will create standard panel upgrade designs and offerings and propose new standard upgrade ideas.

To succeed, you will need

• You hold at least an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, electrical Design, or Electrical Controls & Maintenance.

• You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

• You understand the National Electrical Code and other international standards.

• You have experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Bently Nevada products.
