Electrical CAD Librarian

Electrical CAD/PCB Librarian US Citizen Only M-F 40 hours weekly 6-12 months ECAD librarian ¿ Siemens Xpedition VX2.12 / EDM Library Remote work available This position requires strong PWB layout skills as well as the ability to support CAD library symbol and cell creation and checking. An ideal candidate will be able to perform either or both roles, as required.

Works with design and component engineers to establish proper structure and layout of electrical schematic symbols and footprints, review and approve symbols, footprints and component database information ensuring library data integrates with schematic and layout design tools. Works with moderate to minimal oversight from senior technical personnel and is able to identify and resolve component issues. Understands basic functional and performance parameters of electrical components and how to properly identify and define those parameters by referencing component datasheets.

Effectively communicates status and issues to management and design team members in oral or written form as requested for the project. Create complex PWB layouts using inputs from the schematic designers and other members of engineering. Design techniques such as differential pairs, length matching, impedance control, blind & buried vias, and BGA routing are critical to completing these designs.

Required to create fabrication and assembly documentation and interface with DFM engineers to ensure manufacturability. Possesses thorough knowledge of industry standard practices for schematic drafting, constraint editing, PWB layout, and PWB assembly. Works effectively with the schematic, layout, component database, and drafting tools used within the group.

Able to follow processes and work instructions and adapt to new processes and work instructions quickly. Education and Experience: Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience with Siemens Xpedition VX, EDM Library Manager, Xpedition Designer, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Good oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to execute on a project task. Familiarity with industry standards: IPC-7351, JEDEC-JP95, MIL-STD-1835.
