Definition of Class
Duties & Responsibilities
Possesses an understanding of the Pennsylvania Election Code and laws related to conducting an election.
Assists Election Director with the collection and inspection of nomination petitions.
Provides notary services to candidates running for office.
Possess an advanced understanding of the Pennsylvania Election Code and campaign finance reporting.
Process late campaign finance filing fees and collects fees associated with requested registered voter reports.
Processes and verifies new voter registrations and changes.
Processes absentee/mail-in ballot applications.
Assists with mandated mass mailings.
Demonstrates proficiency in Maintaining the Pennsylvania Registry of Voters through daily interactions with the public in person and on the phone.
Assists in election supply replenishing and/or updating materials contained in election supply bags.
Demonstrates proficient knowledge of the County voting system and basic tenets of Pennsylvania Election Law.
Demonstrates patience and skill in solving issues for voters and assisting in all ways required so voters may vote in person or by mail.
Accurately sorts important election mail including collection of mail-in and Absentee ballots from drop boxes, following proper chain of custody protocol.
Under direct supervision assists in the process of adjudicating write-in votes.
Assists with post-election reconciliation of election ballots and election polls activities.
Assists with maintaining the election poll worker database.
Assists with organizing and conducting poll worker training before each election.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Election Code pertaining to Election Day procedures and campaign finance.
Knowledge and understanding of duties and responsibilities of other employees in the registration department.
Ability to work well with others.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other comparable programs.
Ability to speak and write effectively.
Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to perform all election-related duties in an honest and highly ethical manner.
Ability to carry out all duties in a non-partisan manner.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (Business Curriculum including Secretarial, Accounting, and Computer Training is preferred)
Minimum of 1 years of experience in voter services (Preferred) or commensurate experience in another office setting which interacts with the public (Required)
Must be able to Type a Minimum of 50 Words Per Minute with Accuracy
Advanced Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
