ELA Middle School Interventionists

I. TITLE

District Interventionist

II. PRIMARY FUNCTION

To provide intensive instruction in literacy and/or mathematics for at-risk students

III. REPORTS TO

Chief Academic Officer/Assistant Superintendent and/or Designee

IV. QUALIFICATIONS

• Must hold New Jersey certification in Elementary Education

• Reading Specialist or Teacher of Reading certification and/or highly qualified in Mathematics

preferred

• Special Education certification preferred

• Experience in effective interventions and instruction for at-risk students

• Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Edison

Township Board of Education may specify

V. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Instruct Tier 2 & 3 students in small groups

• Assess students for progress monitoring

• Serve as a member of assigned schools' Student Response Teams

• Consult with classroom teachers and follow-up on student growth

• Maintain records in the data management system

• Analyze assessment results to form instructional decisions

• Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or designee

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/ETEA contract
