  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing including 12 Lead EKG's

  • Ability to maintain and organize paperwork associated with all EKG diagnostic testing.

  • Responsible for presenting a caring and professional attitude at all times and strives to perform all other job duties and responsibilities to meet the needs and expectations of all UT Health Tyler customers.

  • Ability to utilize the MUSE system.

  • Cleans and maintains medical equipment within the department.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules and regulations.

  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols

  • Ensures the safety and comfort of patients

  • Willingly shares knowledge and provides clinical orientation to other members of the staff

  • Has a basic understanding of normal cardiac rhythms and life threatening arrhythmias.

  • Responds to code 44's as required

  • Adapts and adheres to facility policies and procedures

  • Communicates and reports to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with hospital policy

  • Delivers age appropriate care for patient population

  • Preserves and protects patient confidentiality in all situations and with all documentation

  • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with UT Health guidelines on attendance

  • Demonstrates professionalism by being punctual and dependable for assigned shifts.

  • Maintains all annual education requirements including Medelearn and Apex.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous EKG experience is desirable

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting is desirable

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting is desirable

  • Previous EKG experience is desirable
