The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Construction Manager is the primary company representative in charge of the EHS&S deployment for Sila Capital Projects. The candidate will need to maintain a close working relationship with the Construction Management team as well as contractors working on the project. The role is responsible for developing and executing EHS&S programs to safeguard Sila's employees, contractors, assets, and community. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from construction and industrial work sites with the goal of blending their experience with Sila's EHS&S programs to execute a major capital project consistent with Sila's EHS&S Commitment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Currently supports, onsite, the Phase 1 Moses Lake Project in Moses Lake, WA
Work interactively and collaboratively with the Sila Construction Management team and onsite Contractors to deliver a world-class silicon anode manufacturing facility in alignment with Sila's EHS&S Commitment
Develop, implement, and support EHS&S construction programs including Contractor Onboarding, Fall Protection, Crane Safety, Contractor Safety, Emergency Response, Event Learning / Investigation, Confined Space Entry, Security, and Environmental Compliance / Stewardship
Act as a role model promoting Sila's EHS&S culture through coaching, exemplifying, developing, influencing, and training. You will be a regular presence on the construction site, driving conversations with the workforce and improving awareness and reporting
Coordinate the needed performance assurance audits, safety assessments/inspections, suggest corrective actions, monitor and track completion of corrective action items with site personnel
Develop, conduct, and lead EHS&S training in alignment with the Construction Team to foster project-wide growth of knowledge & expertise on EHS topic
Support management of Sila Hazardous Waste program and waste reduction efforts during construction
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant technical field
Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a construction, industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong leadership skills and experience driving EH&S culture improvement
Have a command of construction and industrial workplace hazards and corresponding programs, such as LOTO, confined space, lifting & rigging, electrical safety, machine guarding, combustible dust, hazardous materials, and emergency response
Deep experience with interpreting government regulations including Washington State L&I, Federal OSHA, and local and federal environmental regulations
Expertise with relevant NFPA, Fire Code, and CGA regulations is a plus
Excellent communication and analytical skills

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Wear construction worksite personal protective equipment including gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
Climb and work at heights and enter confined spaces as the job requires
Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
Walk long distances on rough terrain for extended periods of time
Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection as required
The starting base pay for this role is between $123,000 and $155,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila's competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. #LI-Onsite
