Position Purpose:

Maintains and implements CMSC Safety Regulatory Programs and ensures OSHA compliance.

Principal Accountabilities:
60% Reviews safety programs and ensures documentation supports program deployment and compliance
20% Audits facility for compliance (such as: confined space, elevated work, chemical storage, PPE, Plant Safety tours etc)
15% Provide education and consultation to employees and managers
5% Data analysis and collaboration with external and internal contacts to determine trends and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years or more of EHS experience

  • Minimum of 3 years or more supervisory experience

  • Ability to read, write and speak English

  • Ability to deal with conflict

  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office Excel, Work, Powerpoint and Outlook

  • Ability to multitask

  • Able to present to large groups at all levels

  • Willingness to relocate

  • Ability to climb stairs

  • Ability to walk/stand atleast 2 hours per day

  • Occassional travel required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Kaizan or Root cause mapping

  • Industrial or maintenance related experience

  • Experience dealing with government agencies

  • Experience with negotiations

  • Experience or background in Ergonomics

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or safety related field from an accredited college or university

  • Billingual in English/Spanish/Karen or Somali

Position requires additional on the job training to learn the role of plant superintendent. May be required to fill in for the shift superintendent in his/her absence. Must be willing to work any shift as a General Foreman and Plant Superintendent. Principal Accountabilities: 30% - Review, monitor and follow-up on area results. This includes managing department costs to remain within budget guidelines. 20% - Day-to-day supervision, engagement and development of department employees (developing relationships, coaching, training, etc.) 20% - Maintain customer relations by ensuring product quality specifications are met. Interface with customers on plant visits and audits. 10% - Process optimization. 10% - Prepare spreadsheets to summarize information for customers or nutrition staff. 5% - Manage and ensure compliance and improvement in the area of safety, food safety, and environmental. 5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary. Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED relevant experience * 3 years of Supervisory Operations Experience * Fluent in English (Verbal and writing) * Strong computer skills, to include Microsoft Office * Ability to coach and maintain maximum results in areas of Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Efficiencies and Yields. * Be adaptable to change, motivated, with excellent organizational and problem solving skills. * The ability to function in a fast paced environment with little direct supervision * The ability to interact with other departments and functions to obtain the best overall results, including Maintenance, Technical Services, Accounting, Sanitation and Human Resources * Must possess the Heart of Leadership (Integrity, Conviction, and Courage) Preferred Qualifications: * 4 Year College degree * Bilingual: English-Spanish * Knowledge of all applicable OSHA, USDA and Environmental laws and standards Cargill, Inc.
