We have an opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our Ashland, OH team. You will be responsible for providing EHS service, direction, and leadership to achieve Pentair's Zero Harm vision. In this role, the EHS Leader will be the primary point of contact for managing the EHS program, building a proactive safety culture and driving EHS improvements throughout the campus. Our New Brighton location is building an incredibly strong EHS culture, and the site leadership team is driven for EHS excellence. You will:

  • Implement the EHS portion of Pentair's Site Assessment program to drive proactive EHS programs and risk mitigation.

  • Conduct all EHS duties and activities in accordance with the Pentair Win Right Values

  • Partner with site leadership to maintain and continuously improve Pentair's EHS Management System

  • Deliver clear measurable outcomes and EHS improvements by analyzing statistical data/trends and compliance audit results, effectively engaging site leadership, and driving action for identified improvement opportunities.

  • Drive exciting, innovative, sustainable safety solutions.

  • Provide technical expertise in the area of occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, and sustainability. You are the primary point of contact for EHS at the site!

  • Drive thorough investigations for all incidents and accidents on site and ensures timely completion of corrective actions. Lead the team in developing effective root cause analysis and countermeasures which can be applied across the organization.

  • Partner with Segment EHS leader to conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses with emphasis on machine guarding and ergonomics.

  • Promote individual behavior-based safety programs and employee engagement programs, driving involvement and empowerment of front-line employees to change culture from reactive to preventive, and ultimately predictive.

  • Manage excellence around regulatory requirements (OSHA, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan, Large Quantity Generator Permit, DOT hazmat shipping permit)

  • Partner with EHS leaders at all levels and site leadership team to drive continuous improvement in Pentair's Sustainability program, including Pentair's Zero Waste program and Pentair's facility sustainability treasure hunt process.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in EHS from a recognized institution and experience in project, construction and/or industrial EHS fields

  • 3+ years' EHS experience in a manufacturing or construction work environment

  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make decisions, be a self-starter and love working in a team environment.

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from operations leadership.

  • Experience in and knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations

  • Strong positive energy and enjoy driving improvement in the safety and well-being of others!
