Job Description:

Position Purpose:

Participates in design, development, & implementation of facility safety, health, & environmental programs & procedures to safeguard employees and ensure the facility is compliant with Land O' Lakes EH&S standards and all Federal, State, & Local safety/environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts safety audits and validations of buildings, facilities, tools and equipment. Determines safety training requirements and provides employees with safety training applicable to their work processes per company EH&S standards (training, regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and employee engagement).

  • Perform ergonomics assessments and corrective actions.

  • Assists Engineering Manager with ISN contractor safety management.

  • You will be an active contributing member of the PSM Team and will implement/own certain elements such as training, contractor safety, hot work, emergency response, and others as directed.

  • Investigates accidents and promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs.

  • Provides safety performance measures.

  • Determines root cause analyses. Other environmental-related responsibilities.

Experience-Education (Required):

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Engineering.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Must possess strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company

  • Strong computer skills, including usage of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment

Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • Minimum of 3 years of EHS Management experience in a Food, Dairy or related manufacturing environment

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Six Sigma Certification

Physical demands: Will be occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; climb up and down stairs and ladders; talk or hear. Will occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: Will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The temperature of the work environment can fluctuate due to occasional temperatures from cold/cool to warm/hot. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and will require ear plugs. While working in the manufacturing areas, the incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment. Travel: Less than 10% per year

Hours: This role may require work during off-shift hours, weekends or holidays.

As a Health Care Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will experience a fulfilling role as an expert caretaker on and off the battlefield. You will address the health care needs of civilians after natural disasters or civil emergencies; treat injuries and illnesses suffered by Solders through the administration of immediate emergency care and ongoing care; and support and manage medical readiness, supplies, and equipment. Job Duties * Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties * Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment * Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training course * Manage Soldiers' medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment Some of the Skills You'll Learn * Patient care techniques * Advanced medical care * Plaster casting techniques Helpful Skills * Enjoy helping and caring for others * Ability to communicate effectively and work under stressful conditions * Interest in chemistry, biology, psychology, general science, and algebra * Strong attention to detail Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career with civilian hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or rehabilitation centers. You may also consider a career as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant, a medication aide, or physician's assistant. Soldiers in this MOS must also obtain certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at the EMT level or higher. Earn While You Learn Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for Health Care Specialists requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn fundamental Soldiering skills, and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes practice in patient care. The duration of your AIT depends on the area of specialization you choose. Part of AIT is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
