EHS Site Manager

Job Description:

Join Axalta in Front Royal, VA as an EHS Site Manager. Here you'll lead all environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) company and regulatory compliance matters for a manufacturing and warehouse facility, playing a vital role in the site leadership teams with five direct reports. Your responsibilities will include technical expertise in EHS&S, OSHA Process Safety Management, and Security and Transportation regulations, along with managing complex compliance and risk-related matters across the facility.

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with manufacturing leadership, EH&S teams, supervisors, and front-line workers across operational areas. Your focus will be on ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and fostering a proactive safety culture.

• Own the implementation and continuous improvement of EH&S compliance standards. This includes the Responsible Care Management System (RC14001), regulatory requirements, and internal company policies. You'll ensure accountability and adherence across all EH&S disciplines.

• Coordinate comprehensive assessments for EH&S regulatory compliance and internal standards at the site, ensuring effective planning and execution. You'll manage self-audits, internal audits, and third-party audits, collaborating with regional EH&S experts to resolve audit recommendations. Your responsibility also includes providing ongoing support to implement and maintain EH&S management systems, ensuring continual improvement and compliance.

• Drive leadership and capability development. You'll conduct regular EHS&S performance reviews, prioritizing focus areas to achieve site EH&S goals and exercising mature judgment in determining regulatory and operational objectives. Additionally, you will develop functional EH&S capability within the organization through training, coaching, and mentoring initiatives. This includes overseeing training for the hourly production workforce and maintaining accurate records.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related safety discipline, with preference for chemical or mechanical engineering.

• 10+ years of EHS&S experience in manufacturing, preferably in the chemical industry.

• Possession, or pursuit of, professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE is required.

• Demonstrated strong project management and leadership skills, efficiently managing multiple tasks across sites and making informed decisions.

• Strong interpersonal skills make you a valuable team player who can influence others to act.

• Flexibility to travel periodically to other company locations for training, auditing, etc., is required for the role.
