JOB SUMMARY

This position will serve as a contracted employee who will work as a vendor onsite at a prominent

search engine company, supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department. Your

primary function will be supporting the EHS Global Strategic Operations team by managing global

compliance initiatives to deliver various cross-functional projects to our client.

The purpose of this position is to implement and manage HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs relative to a large national/international corporate account or market area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s). Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.

Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.

Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.

Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.

Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.

Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

Design, plan, implement and evaluate a scalable global EHS compliance program model.

Develop, manage and conduct internal audits and investigations to analyze and/or mitigate

compliance risks.

Create workflow for global training delivery.

Drive analytical initiatives to improve data collection and develop dashboards reporting to help

enforce and promote a culture of safety within the organization

Improve governance practices and work closely with cross functional teams to analyze, define,

and execute projects to improve organizational compliance

Oversee development of educational material (including trainings, SOPs, and other documents)

and implementation of technology systems to assist with the scalability and tracking of the

compliance program

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent practical

experience.
5 years of experience in consulting, compliance management, or EHS management.

Strong knowledge of interpreting and complying with federal and local regulations, and working

with public regulators.

Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential.

Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

Ability to effectively present information.

Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.

Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.

Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters in Health and Safety field or JD preferred

Ability to drive decisions, lead meetings/strategy discussions, define priorities, and decide course of action (and adjust when it needs adjusting).

Impeccable business acumen and ability to develop creative strategies in an ambiguous and

unique work environment.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to focus on action and

results.

Excellent analytical skills, decision making and project management skills, with the ability to

adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced business with frequent priority changes

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred

Cepheid's Global Logistics organization is responsible for supporting both internal and external customers by efficiently and cost effectively moving, storing and managing the distribution of consumable raw materials required for manufacturing processes, tech service parts as well as the commercial distribution of all finished goods to a global customer base. As the company continues its rapid expansion, multiple projects are being worked on to increase capacity, drive efficiencies or optimize current solutions. Getting these projects completed in an organized and timely way is the focus of this position. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure decisions are taken in accordance with the strategy of the company * Apply continuous improvement principles in all projects * Work closely with HR and management teams to identify appropriate internal and external project resources. * Possess above average knowledge of all of Cepheid's key business streams * Act as the primary contact for any relevant project related issues * Provide Financial and management information reporting * Highlight potential obstacles to successful project completion making appropriate recommendations to resolve problems * Escalate issues as necessary for prompt and effective resolution * Facilitate and follow up with internal and external teams to ensure key milestones and plans are achieved. * Identify, design and deliver appropriate and timely project related communications to key stakeholders and project teams * Develop appropriate contingency plans * Initial role would be as an individual contributor, but expectations are role will move towards a management position overseeing additional headcount * Support other logistics managers and their functional and operational needs for manufacturing, transportation, IT integration, planning, purchasing and order management and fulfillment. * Manage to a budget. * Actively use Danaher business systems to manage daily operations.
