OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to develop, coordinate and promote safety programs and activities, complete environmental compliance functions, and implement Corporate EHS policies and directives at the Hawthorne and Camarillo facilities, as well as provide assistance on same to other OSI Optoelectronics US facilities as needed. This person will be responsible for environmental health and safety compliance; maintaining safety data sheets and chemical inventories; conducting hazardous waste and site safety inspections; conducting basic ergonomic evaluations and performing job safety analyses; assisting in the development of safety policies and procedures and conducting employee safety training as needed. This person will also be responsible for maintaining all environmental and safety files related to facilities; Interfacing with outside agencies on regulatory matters pertaining to the Hawthorne and Camarillo facilities and coordinates services of hazardous waste, fire protection, first aid and protective equipment vendors. The EHS Manager will work closely with local managers, supervisors, safety committees and Facilities personnel.
Develop implement and monitor industrial safety, environmental engineering, occupational health and industrial hygiene programs, monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations (OSHA/EPA, etc).
Establishes, communicates and interprets safety policies and procedures, promoting safety and environmental awareness, soliciting support from safety committee/ senior management as needed.
Conduct accident and incident investigations, providing reports to management on safety, environmental, and workers' compensation (loss control) performance as needed, and interface with loss control services for workers' compensation and general liability insurance carriers as needed.
Conducts/ coordinates safety and environmental training, audits and investigations of chemicals, air, water and soil, implementing necessary plans as needed, such as storm water pollution prevention.
Ensures proper handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials according to governmental regulations.
Coordinates emergency response activities and trains evacuation assistants.
Review facilities layout for compliance with safety and environmental regulations, overseeing environmental site remediation projects.
Interfaces with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, maintaining environmental permits and record keeping for the company, meeting all governmental reporting requirements related to EHS
Establishes benchmarks for safety and environmental performance and tracks performance metrics according to company policy and best management practices.

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety, or related field or equivalent experience in EHS field.
5+ years of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety).
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and health and safety laws and regulations and workers compensation laws, fire code, industrial hygiene, laser safety, radiation safety, ergonomics, hazardous materials management, safety engineering, industrial processes, safety and environmental management systems, environmental remediation technologies, hazardous waste emergency response protocols, hazardous materials transportation regulations, and legal aspects of safety and health.
Semiconductor/ Optoelectronics/ Electronics manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and give presentations.
Ability to prioritize, monitor, and drive multiple programs simultaneously.
Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Spanish language skills desirable.
Travel up to 10%.
