The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for driving safety management systems and methods across PacSci EMC Chandler Operations. This position will play a key role to supporting the PacSci EMC OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). This position requires a strong leadership and EHS skill set. The EHS Manager is expected to work closely with the Operations team to implement and integrate site Environment Health and Safety (EHS) programs. This program incudes but is not limited to:
Environment, Health and Safety Compliance: All required programs for RCRA, DOT, TSCA and OSHA compliance, including an understanding of Process Safety Management and explosives safety per DoD 4145.26m.
Regulatory Interface: Primary contact for site regulatory agencies; oversees maintenance of required regulatory and program reports, permits and related documents; provides technical expertise to resolve complex technical and regulatory issues.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing EHS Strategy for the Chandler Operations, compose solutions to EHS challenges and aid where possible the implementation of those solutions.
Develop and implement Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic Program
Responsible for environmental compliance programs, including applicable elements of DOT, HAZWOPER, RCRA and TSCA
Develop a leading indicator strategy for EHS management
Use Fortive Business Systems methods to embed EHS best practices into daily management routine.
Identify and implement correct measures to improve accident/injury rates and suggest/implement means to achieve injury prevention and risk reduction goals.
Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organizational use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
Plans and implements health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal and provincial rules and regulations.
Plans, implements and trains site personnel on various Health and Safety policies and programs, including, but not limited to process safety management practices, fire prevention, personal protective equipment, regulations and standards, incident investigation.
Determines annual EHS targets, analyzes performance and sets strategies for year over year improvement.
Provides updates on the progress towards EHS targets, on site EHS activities, and any agency/regulatory inspections/violations.
BS, MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Safety Engineering or BS, MS in environmental management, physical sciences, safety management, industrial hygiene, or appropriate technical field.
7 years experience minimum as an environmental engineer, safety engineer or industrial/occupational hygienist typically required
