Position Summary

As an EHS manager, the successful candidate will coordinate all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities for the TX sites. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and takes responsibility for his/her work.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 7 or more years of related plant/facilities experience with 3 or more years of direct EHS experience in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in management of EHS staff, regulatory compliance, and overall company safety culture.

  • Strong experience in all fields of EHS including related documentation and reporting.

  • Experience in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety management systems such as standards for lock-out/tag-out, manufacturing facilities, safety, fall protection, etc.

  • Ability to work numerous projects in parallel and work independently to solve problems.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Possess a sense of urgency and high level of accountability.

  • Familiar with PC applications such as Windows Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Desired Skills

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience

  • Experience with a wide variety of chemicals

  • Experience with compliance in OSHA, air permits, water permit

  • Experience with hazardous waste programs

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of company safety and compliance including oversight of environmental compliance, Industrial Hygiene, emergency and Hazmat response coordination, as well as OSHA and Corporate EHS compliance.

  • Supervision of EHS personnel. .

  • Supervision of compliance audits to identify problem areas and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed. This includes compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.

  • Selection of EHS related professional and technical service and equipment,

  • Provide consultation and information to support company EHS efforts.

  • Manage the business unit's workers compensation insurance program, accurate reporting of accident/injury reports, root cause analysis and correction of deficiencies contributing to injury, including recommendations for non-compliant behaviors.

Physical Conditions

  • Ability to lift / push / pull up to 25 lbs up to 25% of time

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling

Working Conditions

  • May work outdoors up to 2% of time

  • May travel up to 2% of time

These plants produce packaging for local and national customers. SUMMARY Responsible for leading systems, processes and procedures that promote a positive safety culture which results in an injury free and healthy workplace. Collaborate with local leadership to execute on all local, state, federal regulatory EHS requirements and company EHS programs. This position reports directly to the Complex General Manager and will work functionally with regional EHS staff. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Responsible for supporting and fostering the safety culture the safe behavior expectations and environmental compliance of the manufacturing facilities * Assign and track all EHS activities, corrective action plans and tasks to completion and update as needed; Maintain appropriate documentation * Assess facility programs against performance standards and develop corrective action plans to close gaps * Manage leading indicator efforts including safe work observation process, 5S, hazard recognition and controls * Lead and maintain Contractor safety effort; assist in development of contractor work plans and monitor compliance * Manage energy control, hearing conservation and chemical management programs * Participate in required internal and external EHS audits and inspections; Coordinate and review results to ensure deficiency correction * Lead incident investigations, complete investigation files, develop corrective action plans and manage worker's compensation process * Lead initiatives to strategically plan, communicate, deliver and track required employee training.
