EHS Manager

Our manufacturing client is looking to add an EHS Manager in the Harrisburg, PA area. This Manager will coordinate all the EHS training programs, facilitate new-hire safety orientation, conduct incident investigations, purchase all safety supplies and equipment and make recommendations for EHS improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for EHS program development to achieve cultural permanence, site-specific performance objectives and program implementation goals.
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of current applicable federal, state, local regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate and conduct the injury review process to determine and correct root cause.
  • Track and report operational safety performance.
  • Provide leadership and facilitation and drive for a sustained plant safety committee.
  • Develop and drive emergency response and business continuity initiatives.
  • Lead the operation to best practices and best-in-class EHS results.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory industrial hygiene requirements.
  • 80% safety and 20% environmental
  • Will consider a Safety Supervisor or EHS Supervisor as this role will not have any direct reports.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety or Hygiene.
  • 6+ years of experience in safety, environment and health field in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.
  • Demonstrated success in EHS leadership.

Responsibilities * Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, evaluate and implement options and services to facilitate timely medical care and return to work outcomes of injured workers. * Major Accountabilities Coordinate and implement medical case management to facilitate case closure. Assess appropriate utilization of medical treatment and services available through contact with physicians and other specialist to ensure cost effective quality care. Review and analyze medical records and assess data to ensure appropriate case management process occurs while providing recommendations to achieve case progress and movement to closure. Responsible for assigned caseloads, which may vary in numbers, territory and/or by state jurisdiction. Coordinate services to include home services, durable medical equipment, IMEs, admissions, discharges, and vocational services when appropriate and evaluate cost effectiveness and quality of services. Document activities and case progress using appropriate methods and tools following best practices for quality improvement. Coordinate job analysis with employer to facilitate return to work. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by case management manager. Occasionally attend on site meetings and professional programs. Review job analysis with physician. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current RN license. BSN preferred. Applicable state certifications in the state where job duties are performed. Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or associated post-graduate degree for Vocational Case Managers. Obtain other professional certifications as appropriate (CCM, CRRN, CDMS, COHN, CRC). Earn Continuing Education Units to maintain certifications. Designated professional certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire date. * Minimum of two (2) year experience in insurance rehabilitation and medical/vocational rehabilitation preferred. * Possess working knowledge of medical and vocational resources available to the Workers' Compensation industry. * Possess knowledge of principle insurance, Worker's Compensation laws, disability systems, and/or the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) * Exhibit well-defined leadership and interpersonal skills * Demonstrate evidence of self-motivation and the ability to perform case management duties independently. * Comfortable working with a computer and other technology resources to aid in completion of assigned job accountabilities. * Oral and written fluency in English.
